Free weekly crypto tips for Africa:
- How Bitget Withdrawal Works in Zimbabwe
- Method 1: Sell USDT for EcoCash via P2P (Recommended)
- Method 2: On-Chain Withdrawal via TRC-20
- Security Before Withdrawing
Withdrawing from Bitget in Zimbabwe confused me the first time. I could not find an EcoCash button anywhere. That is because there is not one. Here is exactly how withdrawal actually works in Zimbabwe, and the one mistake that costs Zimbabwean users 5-15 USDT every time.
Note: Zimbabwe introduced the ZiG (Zimbabwe Gold) in April 2024, but USD remains dominant. All P2P trading operates in USD.
How Bitget Withdrawal Works in Zimbabwe
Bitget does not offer direct bank or mobile money withdrawal. The two practical paths for Zimbabwe are:
- Sell via P2P to a merchant who pays EcoCash (most common, no blockchain knowledge required)
- Withdraw crypto on-chain to an external wallet, then convert separately
Most Zimbabweans use path 1 for daily use. Path 2 is for those sending to another wallet or exchange.
Method 1: Sell USDT for EcoCash via P2P (Recommended)
- Go to Buy Crypto then P2P Trading then Sell tab
- Select USDT, currency USD, payment EcoCash
- Choose a buyer with 95% or higher completion and 50 or more trades
- Place sell order. Your USDT goes into escrow.
- Buyer sends EcoCash to your phone number
- Verify the EcoCash payment has arrived in your wallet
- Confirm receipt. Your USDT releases to the buyer.
Time: 10-20 minutes. Cost: merchant spread of 1.5-3.5% (on the sell side, you receive slightly below market rate).
See our Bitget P2P Zimbabwe guide for merchant selection tips.
Method 2: On-Chain Withdrawal via TRC-20
- Assets then Spot Account then USDT then Withdraw
- Network: TRC-20 (Tron). This is the critical choice.
- Enter destination TRC-20 address (starts with T)
- Enter amount and verify fee (approximately 1 USDT on TRC-20)
- Submit with email plus 2FA confirmation
- USDT arrives in 1-5 minutes
| Network | Fee | Speed | Verdict |
|---|---|---|---|
| TRC-20 (Tron) | ~1 USDT | 1-5 min | Always use this |
| ERC-20 (Ethereum) | 5-15 USDT | 5-30 min | Never use |
| BEP-20 (BSC) | ~0.8 USDT | 1-3 min | OK if destination supports it |
The most common Zimbabwe withdrawal mistake: selecting ERC-20 because it appears first. Always verify you have selected TRC-20 before confirming.
Security Before Withdrawing
- Enable Google Authenticator 2FA (not just email)
- Whitelist your withdrawal addresses in Bitget security settings
- Never screenshot your 2FA codes or seed phrases
