The numbers

Why crypto is growing in Ghana
Ghana put crypto on a formal footing in 2025: the Bank of Ghana’s Virtual Asset Regulatory Office and the Virtual Asset Service Providers Act brought registration and oversight for the first time. Most Ghanaians fund an exchange by sending cedis from MTN Mobile Money or Telecel Cash, then verify with a Ghana Card. The cedi’s ~24% fall in 2024 has added currency-hedge demand on top of everyday payments.
